Discovery Day in Santa Fe: La Cieneguilla Petroglyph Site
When I first moved to Santa Fe in the eighties, I took frequent road trips to check out New Mexico and its ancientness. Somehow, I never came across a petroglyph site just a few miles south of Santa Fe, right off Airport Road, that boasts hundreds of petroglyphs in the basalt cliffs, especially of kokopellis and birds.
La Cieneguilla Petroglyph site is 3.5 miles south of 599, marked by a sign and a big parking lot. It’s a steep but short climb and the views are fantastic – 360 degrees! I’ve seen very little of the site so far, but came across a huge cave with a blackened roof from many fires, and a snake petroglyph on the wall outside. Very nice piece of real estate with views overlooking valleys and mountains.
This Week’s Earth Signs’ Mystery Revealed
An Earth sign wrote to me today, wondering about the seeming paradox of the weekly horoscope’s message for Earth signs in particular, and its contrast with the general forecast for the week. Other Earth signs might want to hear the answer:
“You asked a good question!
I noticed too that this week’s earth signs’ message was incongruent with the general forecast, commented about it to my earth sign friends at coffee. This message would also be for anyone with a heavy dose of planets in earth signs, or moon and rising both in earth.
The diverse-seeming directions are because the beginning messages for everybody cover much longer time spans than a week: the length of Mercury and Jupiter retrograde, and then the whole year. There’s a Neptune action (not named) that makes it a time to be careful with money and deals.
However, according to moi, earth signs get lucky about something this week, or get some specific details about a future positive development Please let me know if it doesn’t make sense in hindsight.
The same seeming contradictions are probably in the many different kinds of 2016 messages for the fire, water, air and earth signs in the January newsletter. That’s because each one, done at a different time, covers different lengths of time, or is commenting on a different dimension of the person.
