According to my psychic sources, Hurricane Irene isn’t going to be as bad as people expect. Not even close.
Here are some personal messages to ponder while you wait for the storm…

Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius): The winds of change blow hard in September. Be allowing… always be willing to give, bend, let happen, and release. You’re athering a lot of energy! All will work out if you let go…you need your energy for NOW and LATER, not THEN. In general, September has a choppy beginning to a sustained effort that provides personal satisfaction and material success.

Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn): “Sun in Virgo is contained”, say the spirits, meaning naturally-occurring damage control is in effect for the earth signs, and things turn out better than they might look now. Relationships and partnerships are in question, but while you’re waiting, the tentative beginnings of better solutions are getting established. Re the earth itself, Hurricane Irene probably won’t be as terrible as people are expecting.

Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius): Minor agitations, bills and more bills leave you feeling like you need some relief. However, circumstances help make you get practical! Get comfortable with what you’ve got. Some consider a change in location to better their prospects.

Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces): Cancer: Whoa! Abrupt about face! Change! Changed plans will work out. Scorpio: Watch out for blow-ups, Scorpio! You can really be intense, as if all your inner fires got lit. Blow them out–don’t wait for someone else to do it! Pisces: You don’t see how everything is in good order quite yet, but you are getting into a great position for creativity, fun, and even more love!

On August 18th we entered “the 5th night” in the ninth wave of the Mayan calendar, a two week period lasting until September 4th. There have been eight other “fifth nights”. They are all associated with the word “destruction”, the name of one phase in a creative process that supposedly traces the evolution of consciousness.

Although consensus on the web is that people should expect economic decline and other kinds of deconstructing actions, the message I got was about the peoples’ inner journey and the positive side of the energy in the atmosphere, which feels thick with potential to make things happen. A motivated person will be enlivened and enlightened by it as they go about making their life work. People can feel more connection with their path, and see more things open up for them as they go about their business. If you feel you are on a path of personal growth yet not ready to move forward with what you love, don’t worry, there are different entry points in the Mayan days and nights ahead.

Here in Santa Fe, this is the busiest time of the year, Indian Market! I’ll write more later..

On today’s revolving world stage, Egypt’s Mubarek has been forced out and is on trial, Putin is ready to again claim power in Russia, and perhaps the prophecies of Nostradamus deserve the spotlight now too, as it looked like he nailed these current events back in the 1500′s.
It’s hard to come across translators with compelling information and insights about Nostradamus, although I love this page of strange facts about him found here . Nostradamus appears to be the most psychic person who ever recorded his prophecies.

A very lucky encounter at a Santa Fe cafe recently introduced me to a metaphysical scholar from France who was reading the quatrains in their original 16th century language. The well-used copy of his book was filled with blue-inked translation notes and references. He showed me passages from the quatrains pointing to what certainly seems to be “The Arab Spring”, a time when the ruler of Egypt has to give back his power to the people who are screaming for him to leave, a time when there is a King in Morocco (which had sultans up until 50 years ago, and now there is a king); connected to this incident are events in three other countries: Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria. (An incident in Tunisia sparked the whole revolution.) The intimation is that the power structures in these other-named countries change, too.

I asked the French scholar about the future and what quatrains were important to understand now, and he went back to the one about the King of Terror (more accurately the King of Frightening, “Roy d’Effrayeur”)– someone who comes into power in the year 1999 and 7 months. On July 25, 1999, President Yeltsin called on Vladimar Putin, director of the Russian Secret Services, about succeeding him as President, and Putin began serving as president of Russia in 2000. (According to the quatrain, the King of Terror comes out of the sky and goes on to be a channel for the energy of an ancient king who gets along happily with Mars, the god of War. Researching Putin on the web, I came across a chilling account of how Putin came out of nowhere, rising to power through terrorist attacks he blamed on the Chechens here from GQ magazine).
Why is this still relevant? Because more of the Nostradamus quatrains point to this King who comes into power in 1999, and if If Vladimar Putin is that man, he has a lot more power to grab.

How did Nostradamus divine things? This is answered in the first two two quatrains of his prophecies “Les Centuries de Nostradamus” which detailed just how Nostradamus “saw”. The most important point is that he found a way to invoke a spiritual presence that came to sit with him, and this “light” that came into his room was the source of insights. Nostradamus had his own process to do what shamans and healers and divinators do: they “call the forces” and let themselves be a channel for what comes. Nostradamus also described a divination system where he stirred a bowl of water with a stick with branches and then peered into the patterns, or after stirring waited for the water to be still to see. Looking into the water after stirring and in the presence of the light, he had visions. It’s interesting water was his medium, as water is associated with physical bodies, and Nostradamus was particularly precise about the fate of various people throughout history, and larger bodies such as countries. I wonder if he worked more with the air element, which can be the medium for information about shifts in consciousness, if he would have agreed with the Mayans’ understanding that at this time, no matter what all has to
happen, ultimately we are moving towards a “unity consciousness” That’s a question for the next time I run into the the man in Santa Fe who knows all about Nostradamus.

Dear Friends,

Here in Santa Fe, the sidewalks are getting crowded as the tourist season picks up…this year I’m noticing more visitors mention they come here to “calm down” rather than shop. The skies are blue again after the fires, and the trains are going to be running on the weekends. The International Folk Mart and Spanish Market were great successes, and the biggest of all, Indian Market, is just around the corner in the middle of the month. Down on the plaza, the crowds are huge for the bandstand’s summer concert series’ best year ever. Viva Santa Fe! a great choice for a weekend or forever.

I”ve been tweaking and writing for my new website as I want to post a lot more short and simple informative pieces about intuition and other metaphysical topics. Right now I’m working on “what’s an intuitive ‘yes’ and what’s an intuitive ‘no’?” More people are asking about their own inner guidance as life gets uncertain…

Lately I’ve been fascinated by the Mayan calendar as it winds down (the 9^th and last wave is between March 9-October 28 2011) and have written many messages and articles about these weeks on my blog at www.elissaheyman.com/blog.

Although in the back of my mind is a prediction from January 2011 about “the biggest event of the year happening in late summer or early fall”, I don’t feel drawn to divinate on or predict anything about August, except practical psychic hits like the ones below. Whatever’s changing about what’s coming through to me from the cosmos, may it be interesting and helpful to both of us!

Pictograph: The 5th Day shows two different phenomena, one inner and one outer. Many people are angry in this country with the consequences of American politics, for instance. Within individuals, many are lit up with inner ambition to live a true life they can love. Many are more willing to shed what needs to be shed, and share what they’ve got.
In honor of the Mayan calendar’s ancient incredible prescience about this time of striking change, this month’s spiritual guidance messages are inspired by its current phase: “The 5th Day”, between July 31st and August 17^th. In the evolution of our consciousness, according to calendar scholar Carl Johan Calleman, PhD, (who is respected by the elder Mayans today) the 5th day is associated with “budding”. Budding” is part of a growth cycle that traces the path of the development of “unity consciousness”. A shift towards unity consciousness doesn’t mean it manifests abruptly. It shows up now as it already has in global instances of connection and action. It seems likely more “unity consciousness” will manifest in response to future austerity, producing people who need help.

I interpret the time of budding to be about what’s inside: People are dealing with what they want to bring out of themselves and offer–what they want to be involved in. Or, they’re dealing with what has emerged as being inside of them they now recognize and are able to release. People are setting new patterns as a culmination of inner alignment and choice. Designated so long ago by the Mayans as a significant choice point, it’s essential to keep focused on what you want to grow in your life. What do you really want? You can get on that path now, or something you can’t get rid of can put you on a path. One way or the other, we’re all moving. For some it will be to go deeper.

Spiritual Guidance for August 2011

Be extra tolerant of who comes into your life at this time. A lot of past life karma gets activated in these days, and you might be seeing old friends, or an opportunity to grow through an experience with someone new (who is really old.)
Metaphorically speaking, “Stay out of the sun”. There’s an unusually bright, intense energy in the atmosphere, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Have somewhere cool and shady to retreat to, a place where you feel calm and not pressured. People with no garden or nice empty room of their own, can create a state-of-mind place to go through meditation or guided imagery.

People are in very unusual circumstances these days. Before you judge another as inattentive, a rip-off artist, or annoying in some way, maybe they’re in some sort of an emergency. Give people the benefit of the doubt.

It’s Mercury retrograde basically all of August 2011. Do not make assumptions the route is clear. Don’t just expect people to react to you the same, or do what they always did. Don’t turn off a side road just hoping it goes through. More likely, there’s a gate across it you can’t see.

Fire signs: (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius): Where is home? Zeroing in on home (or what you can commit to, center around) is important now. Clarity about change is galvanizing. Overall, there’s a very positive way forward from where you stand. Sagittarians will get better ideas. Aries are learning about or defining their boundaries and getting established on new roads. Leos are radiating energy– they need to be in a good locale/position and place to make the most of their energy. Protect it!

Water signs: (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces): You have to have a lot of faith, because although things are getting to a much better, deeper place, chances are you can’t see that now. If you can feel yourself changing, know that all that happens is on the way to a heart’s desire being fulfilled. What is budding, yet also hidden by time, is a more focused and engaging life.

Air signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius: A cryptic message for you: “Going round and round in circles? STOP! Be still–the truth won’t kill,but dissolve, and what’s left standing you can trust.” You are on the verge of the next phase, let it be one that gives you peace of mind, even if it’s challenging.

Earth signs: (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn): What is stirring is new strengths and daring ideas, new inspired directions and gifts. Believe that you have the potential to go in terrific new directions! They are supported and made realizable by your strengths. Bud on!!

What turns out to have been very good preparation for these times are all the mind-body-spirit integration trends of the last thirty years, such as meditation, yoga, breathing exercises…because things are getting really chaotic! The intensity of energy and the feeling that everything is speeding up, makes it doubly important to have a peaceful inner inner space to be in. Fortunately, there’s been a proliferation of resources and practices for anyone wanting to stay centered and productive, just let your interest level guide you to which one to try.

On the radio last month I channeled a message about how people need to create a refuge for themselves in the midst of whatever chaos is going on around them. Basically, the way to stay in balance is to go “in”. If you’ve never tried it before, it’s not too late…energy balancing practices in this quickend atmosphere brings results. Just like the world is changing fast, so can any one of us!

Another consciousness tool is having a clear understanding of your intuition’s “yes’ and “no”. Your intuition is assigned to guide you to your unique growth experiences, or warn you when you are headed towards a dead end. Being able to trust your guts is priceless: to know how you feel on an intuitive level about moving one way or another when things are changing, when you may need to make a decision you didn’t expect, or take a leap of faith. We all have this basic ability to tune in to our inner self’s “yes” and “no”.

All about NO:

Intuition, being independent of the ego, can give you a “no” reading about something your mind says you should be excited about. The ego self-identity reacts to social pressures and your own expectations. The intuition responds to the energy something actually gives off, rather than expectations or hypothetical circumstances.
The whole world can think an opportunity is great, it’s a huge honor, but you are wary. For some reason at the mention of this fabulous promotion, your familiar “no” feelings are present. You are curiously unenthusiastic…your body is hanging back and your stomach just tightened. Your breathing is shallow. Even though your senses register that you’re disappointing people, you tell your boss you’re going to sleep on it.
There are many NO natural body responses. Typically, it feels like a dimming of light and energy, a physical contraction, a sense of something not going anywhere, a lack of connection or substance. “No” might also bring up anxiety, tension, and fear. On a basic physical level, it is a contraction somewhere or a loss of energy. Whatever it is, there will be many more “no’s” to follow if you don’t heed, because the intuition doesn’t give up.

All about YES:

A “yes” is opposite to NO in that it feels stabilizing, peaceful, energizing, or expansive. It can also be a sense of simplicity: You see the used car for sale in the distance…the lines please you, its paint sparkles, you drive it and in three minutes you’ve already stopped thinking about whether you’re going to buy it, it’s your car. (You go on to drive the car for 13 years with virtually no problems.) “Yes” is something that gives you a solid feeling, that you have no problem with, that generates creative ideas, that seems fun, that makes you feel lighter, that makes your body feel safe, that makes your heart open up or impels you to reach out.

Today’s New York Times’ headlines about Syria sending in the tanks and killing people are frightening, and remind me of a long-ago prediction from January of 2006, when a couple of countries gave messages: “This is from a country that didn’t identify itself, but it said, “Below us are mighty jets, above us a scimitar – holy wars rage until the end.” (Looking at a map of the mid-East, this could be Syria);” Israel was the other country in that set of predictions and the message was accurate, in that I believe it was describing the coma their president went into later that year. “Yes, we are here, crowded in the room together; the lights are out. How long are we going to be here in the dark? We are the people of Israel, and we are in peril.” The message from Syria indicates to me that people should expect a big bloodbath.
