Dear Friends, I am finally gripped by the Spring Aries energy that is roaring in with this new moon on the 5th—so much wants to grow now!! As this new moon in Aries approaches, which astrologers see as the real beginning of the year, I’m getting a sense of the creative potential of this time and it is whopping. We could be beset by a HUGE urge to bring into manifestation whatever is dying to be born. It’s likely you’ll have to excuse yourself from some social gatherings, or that you’ll hear your friends say they’re too busy to get together…everyone’s busy furthering their dreams now. (But when people do get together, it will be especially gay and gala!) Have a good time, however it turns out to be for you…here’s a story about a good time I had a week ago in Mexico: Love, Elissa My Spring Break and How I Ascended I began hearing about the “Ascension Movement” in the ‘80’s, and thought it had something to do with “The Great White Brotherhood”—both names alienated me and I never found out what it was all about. But I got a new understanding about what “ascension” really meant to people when I was in Mexico recently, talking to the owner of the Caribbean beach resort I was at just south of Tulum. It was the night of the Spring Equinox, and the owner had turned the area next to the eating patio into a ceremonial place, with a fire pit and chairs all around. Three young Mayan shaman had come earlier to set up an altar with crystals and feathers and fruit and shells, and a temescal was built, the Mayan version of the Native American sweat lodge—it’s a little hut you crawl into for spiritual communion. (The Mayans use more fresh herbs than in a Native American sweat, including fresh rue or “ruta" which I love. I grow and use it in New Mexico --it's not used here much, I knew about it from Carribean healers living in San Francisco.) The group I was with had been busy with our own ritual activities..we were having a trance dance in an airy upstairs workshop space, with a deck that overlooked the sea. It was a full moon and a magical night to be dancing around with other people. When it was over I walked up to see what was going on with the ceremony. It had ended, and the owner was lounging around in front of the altar after the ceremony when I walked up. She was someone I’d clashed with ever since I got there, both of us being willful, and I was surprised to see her so friendly-looking and relaxed. I was getting a little worried about the build-up of tension between us…how could I totally get into my vacation while something contentious was building up between me and another person? For God knows what wonderful reason, right then she decided to turn around the trainwreck our relationship was heading towards, and invited me to sit down and talk to her. Like turning on a spigot of magical energy out of nowhere, she told me the strange and funny truths of her life. And that she had the goal to be loving in all her interactions, while being totally aware that of when she wasn't—but really got that the point was to keep on working at choosing love, because it led to another experience of reality right here on earth, and that’s what she called “ascension”. There were up cycles and down cycles, but ultimately she was convinced that the only salvation was to choose love and not fear. What kind of wonderful reality was that to be living in? I guess in order to get there it has to be more important than any little war one's natural self might start. We were friends after that, talking and laughing about life’s crazy plot twists. Her choice to choose love created a little miracle, making a way for me to choose peace too, and have a great vacation, and think that maybe everything was going to be okay in this world. I just had a week to get away and it was perfect: I was picked up at the airport, met all kinds of great people, did wonderful shamanic and transformational processes, visited elegant and mysterious Mayan temples in the jungle, and swam in the Caribbean’s truly healing turquoise waters. I got to dance and sing and drum around a fire with great musicians, it was really fun. Your birthday year begins with Mercury retrograde in Libra, giving you valuable information about which of your agendas will (and won’t) move forward with ease. In 2008 your energy is high…keep your sense of humor, and quickly get help with anything that’s bugging you or that you need—just keep on rolling through whatever comes up, and let others help and support you. You should get a lot of help this year. You naturally run into people who take you very seriously, and propose things that can mean serious money--they are likely to be men. There’s something unexpected or mysterious about developments now, but they are beneficial and have a long future. February’s Lessons: The Universe gives opportunities and grants people the chance to learn from positive experiences--take advantage and go for what’s glittering, pleasing, enthralling, uplifting!! In the first few weeks while Mercury is retrograde we learn things that better arm us to succeed. We now know the right way to make something happen. In the beginning of your birthday year you can be concerned that your plans for the future, that you won’t end up where you belong, but here's what my crystal ball says: It may start out slow, but even in the first few months of the year, you’ll see you get more cooperation and support to carry out your goals...then things get better! Today I took a Sunday drive through the mountains on the high road to Taos, up to the little village of Las Trampas to order some winter hats from a weaver. What a beautiful shopping trip!  Cottonwood trees and stands of aspens were a blaze of gold around each corner, and the healing fragrant balm of the passing pinon and pines forests filled my car. Although such places are harder to find close to Santa Fe, one can still be transported to the 19th century rural life fairly easily. I’m just about to leave all that behind for a few trips out of state, where the fall foliage should be even more spectacular!  After a few days of R'n'R in West Texas and Mexico, I’ll be working in Massachusetts and Rhode Island November 8-13, please call if you’d like a private appointment. You are challenged this year to use everything you’ve got. You might be asked to do a great deal at work, or accept an opportunity that proves to be the project of a lifetime. Do not doubt your talents, resources or strength to deal with whatever comes up—you will be exultant after a big effort. No matter where life takes you, and the signs are you’re called away to perform, you have a special readiness. Spend 90% of your time focused on getting where you want to go, and 10 per cent on how you ended up where you are. In the U.S., the administration pushes forward a giant agenda to create a new foundation for the U.S. to build upon, by further invading the Middle East, but it is way too small a foundation as it doesn't include others; it’s thinking “little” in a quickly connecting world. Once I saw America as a burnt out, abandoned building, on the wrong side of a barbed wire fence…are we being steered to such an an isolated place? Personal Success Stories: Have you heard more stories lately of people finally taking the plunge and doing what they love and find meaningul? Or has someone told you about a new personal vision that's giving them hope for the future? People get acutely aware of their choices now, and many make big changes, the hard choices that feel right. Don’t push anything.” The Hierophant, who represents divine order, higher learning, and The Right Way To Do Things, gives a blessed route to personal success this Fall: “I see you come shining, what’s in your heart to do, And if to that you stay true— Then all is well with you.” September 11th Eclipse Channeling I don’t want to overwhelm you with guidance from too many sources, but I got a very interesting set of messages on September 11th during the solar eclipse. When I went out to see what was in the atmosphere, actually expecting to have some god-awful kind of 9-11 related image of World War 3, I discovered instead that the air was alive with creative energy, it was sparkly and magical because of all the connecting-up and networking going on. Here’s what I got then, which I’m going to lift from a letter I wrote to a friend of mine—for some reason I couldn’t recall the whole download of spiritual instructions until I tried writing it in a letter: "To my real surprise, the most marvelous energy was dancing around in the air! It was full of promise, it portended an amazingly creative and connected world to be in...it said, 'there's a way to be soaring right now: it's to get aligned with what's important to you and to be doing it, as this is a tremendous time to be creative and giving and expressing of yourself.'" Then it gave me these pointers about how to stay aligned and on a high with this consciousness that in its energetic imprint, somehow facilitated the opening of one's heart. It was something to expand out into, to open up into. It was the collective consciousness of the future, likely, and one I used to see and write about it the '80's and '90's when I could feel a very groovy time to be alive up ahead. This is the first time I've sensed it in years. So, here's what I got as processes to help one stay aligned with what's positive...now when I read it, it sounds so simplistic, but receiving it was very profound. It triggered a big healing in me, about a past life. The first way to keep moving on a positive path was to practice being grateful, because it literally moved healing energy through your being and out into the world. It was a blessing for everything to feel thankful, grateful, and it moved healing energy through your body. It's where you’re feeling that you’re glad you have the family you do, or live where you live, whatever it may be—and that warm gush of real gratefulness and positive energy moves energy in a healing way through your body and out into the world like a blessing. The next suggestion to free yourself to be in a creative space now, and not get dragged down by environmental conditions, was also about "energy moving". It was, in response to whatever people act out, to let other peoples' behavior go and just figure how to go around it. To let things go, to not hold on to what's done by others. To not try to stop people from doing what they're doing, but to manuever yourself. What was presented next wasn’t a suggestion, it was a warning, that “regret” was a hard habit to kick and a real enemy to connecting with the wave of creative energy; regret was sneaky and could consume a lot of time. All regret did was energize what was wrong. The bottom line is, we’re here to grow, not succeed. The last suggestion was also about how to keep energy flowing in your life, and it was to accept everything about one's own self, whatever had happened that was on the way to where they’re standing now. These are all things I'm getting as relevant to practice now, for the development of some creative possibility that may be building to a much more concrete manifestation, in the same time frame as the destruction of 'what's standing" now goes on, which I get as five years. While we witness a lot of things falling apart, there will be this other movement based on ideals of connecting, and the energy that nurtures such a network of creative energy is with us now." Psychic Messages for the Individual Astrological Signs for Fall 2007 Aries: The basic mode is planting at this time, not reaping or sowing, even though it’s Fall. Be open to new possibilities and participate in a creative way with life. In some practical and psychological ways you are unburdening yourself, an energy-consuming process, and at the same time the signs say to pay attention to what’s new. Taurus: Great change precedes great dreams and great achievements. Some creative things are at a standstill at the moment--if that’s the obvious case, let it be. The Fall is the time to place value in, and seek out, amicable relationships and new environments. Make emotional harmony your goal, and keep on refiguring things if necessary, until it appears. You become more independent, emotionally sure and collected, and able to present things and yourself. It’s a positive year. Expect to make a good impression and have good experiences away from home—it is not a very settled-feeling year but this is not uncomfortable, you just have things going on that take you places. Don’t pile on too much !! It is so easy for your creative, impulsive eyes to ask you to do more than your whole being can execute, and the result is you feel pressured and scattered. Re the stock market:  I did not include it in the Summer newsletter, but I got the message “Stock market blows off”, which meant to me it would go way up and down. It’s done that, but now I got: “… something about the market clawing its way higher, but it was ultimately opposed.” Speaking of things I’m not sure of, I saw a “spike” in the beginning of September I interpreted as a spike in violence with a significant impact, and then a spike in August (in the middle) that I interpreted as a high in the market. May I remind you that in 2000, I correctly charted the monthly progression from March to October of the market, and then I was DEAD WRONG.  (My actual error, for divination enthusiasts, was to assume the tarot cards laid out month by month for the U.S.A. in 2000, could also be used to depict the stock market. This was true for ten out of twelve cards, until the months of November and December. The cards can mean a lot of things related to the question you asked, but you can’t ask them to apply to a different question, a different intention.) Fire: (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius):  There can be a profound change in you at this time—you’re not the same person in September that you are in July. What it’s predicated on is that you are stronger—stronger at something, more able to do the right thing for yourself, better at sustaining yourself—there are a lot of changes up ahead and they begin in August. I’m hot in Santa Fe, but since I’m about to get my pyromaniac’s fix with tomorrow’s fireworks, I don’t care if it’s hot, as long as it’s clear. The city of Santa Fe may be small but it puts on a spectacular catharsis of a show every 4th of July! About Intuition and This Summer’s Transitions   I want to tell you a story a client just told me, I hope he doesn't mind. It's about getting from one place to another, when it is only “signs” and one’s intuition that’s pointing one there, and not a rational reason. This happens to quite a few people—an inner knowing of a change up ahead, without any info about why or what it leads to. It’s frustrating as it’s happening from all the stories I’ve heard, but the ending is usually a much better one than the person has yet imagined for themselves.    My new client was a very normal looking person with a normal job, but who gave off “wizard” vibes, the way people who’ve been crystal scientists in Atlantis or masters of some arcane science feel to me even though they’re dressed in plaid now. When he was in Hawaii for work recently, a kahuna (medicine man)  noticed the same thing, and wanted to spend the week sharing his occult and healing knowledge. Suffice to say, unusual things happened to him, but I notice unusual things happen to everyone when they're for instance, going to change jobs or professions. They start getting signs and omens.     He lived in Santa Fe, and was very glad when he reached the point that he had lived in Santa Fe longer than he'd been stuck in the midwest city he grew up in. But when visiting his family back where he came from, it occurred to him that he was going to be moving back there and living there again. "Tell me it isn't true", he said to his intuition. He told his mother about this revelation, and she said, "Well, what would it take to get you back here? He named an unlikely condition, and sure enough, that condition was met. Then he said to himself, “Well, if this other thing happens, then I’ll move back home”, and that other thing happened. On his next visit back home, a house came for sale in the only place he wanted to live, on the one day he had to look at real estate, and he bought it on the spot. Finally, at the airport on another trip to finalize arrangements, he noticed an absolutely gorgeous black woman walking gracefully ahead of him, covered in jewelry with an exotic headdress, and he thought to himself, "This is what I'll be giving up by moving to a hick mid-west city, the diverse beauty one encounters in a cosmopolitan area.”  When he got up to the ticket counter she was  right next to him, answering the agent’s question about her final destination. It was the very same city he was returning to!  My surprised client turned to her to ask:  "Tell me, what's in that city for you, what’s waiting for you there?", and she said, "Heaven".  My guess is that he'll be very happy he listened to his inner guidance and what the world was telling him.     This summer, many people are in transition, figuring out they might belong somewhere else. They’re getting into a more fitting place, or two places, or they’re just trying to figure out where they do belong.  It would probably be hard to see which way the wind was blowing until the end of July. The right position or place for you will let you know through positive signs and omens.   Experimental Circle: (Update:  there are two telephone experiments scheduled, at 7 pm MDT July 22 and August 1st. Next Spring or this Fall… And now,  for something completely different: Extremely Delicious Burrito from New Mexico Flour tortillas Beeler’s Regular Breakfast Sausage (must be Beeler’s, available at Wild Oats) Real tomatoes with flavor Fresh cilantro Roasted diced Hatch or other Green chile; canned will work if necessary The simple combination of these five flavors is sublime. Really really good.   (I wouldn’t  add any more ingredients  but my boyfriend likes it with avocado.) Fry the sausage, meanwhile slice the tomatoes chop the cilantro. Drain sausage on paper towels. Heat the chile in the hot sausage pan Heat up the tortilla, lay drained sausage on top, then tomatoes, salt, pepper, chile, cilantro. Roll up and eat!                                                                     Psychic Predictions for Summer 2007 Usually on the solstices and equinoxes I get lots of far-flung information about goings- on with collectives of people or countries, but this Summer I was not inclined to open my divination circle to the world in general. I did get one “big picture” message but it was cryptic in that it didn’t give a time, and vague in that it didn’t say what kind of change was up ahead—the message was: “Some sort of inevitable change happens. We are moving, without seeming to move, towards change—fated things happen.” It could be that some life-changing circumstance affecting a lot of people is in the air and detectable now but happening, for instance, next summer---or it could just be nothing, a psychic miss.   However, I did get a similar message before 9-11, when I was writing the Summer 2001 newsletter. It was also frustrating to receive because it was so vague and cryptic, only: “Everything changes”. But after 9-11, it struck me as perfectly succinct. I’m not sure there’s any point in giving this new one, but it is what I got.                             Personal Guidance for everyone, how to make the most of Summer 2007 It feels like a critical time, when how we proceed now has profound consequences. Opportunities that come up now make us realize that everything is up to us, it’s all about the choices we make. We will be shown ways we can succeed if we’re willing to do what it takes. Even if you’ve tried many times to break a habit or change behavior, try it again this Summer! Rare planetary forces will help you dislodge and disrupt destructive personal patterns.  Let go of things and expect it to be painful and then you are rewarded for making the sacrifice and getting into a better state of balance. Kicked off on the second by a full moon in Scorpio, bringing “the war planet” Mars into play not to mention other astrological tensions, the fur could fly. It could be an intense month for many, the time for coming to conclusions and change. Dear Friends,   I hope you're enjoying life this Spring--I'm feeling more hopeful this season, and am glad to be suddenly reading in the papers about an American representative eating a dried date in a Middle-East marketplace, rather than getting bombed there. Hope it keeps going in this direction...  While I was in Mexico I was sad to learn that my old friend Anne Wehrer passed away March 22nd. When I was young in San Francisco, she was living proof to me that you could stay wild inside and keep your sparkle and still get old. Her friends fascinated me and the rest of the world: she was featured in an Andy Warhol movie, hung out with and co-authored Iggy Pop’s  book  “I Need More”,  and introduced me to all kinds of avant-garde people:  inventors, artists, philanthropists…most of all she was kind enough to be like a mother to me even though she had lots of adoring kids of her own. When I left the internet café last week and joined a lunch party with an international glass artist living in Mexico, she exclaimed, “Anne Wehrer! I know Anne!--and told us stories about outrageous art parties in Texas they were at decades ago. Notably, Anne was a cancer survivor, who at 18 and absolutely gorgeous, lost her leg to bone cancer, and probably no one has ever met such a high-spirited, well-adjusted, party-loving amputee.  A light’s gone out, at the time of a new moon eclipse, when it’s said that great people often make their transition. Fluffy and puffy, it tried to make itself small as it crouched down and waited for some stray bird--they're usually singing away in the trees but every once and awhile they fly down to the fence and back again. Then I notice quite a few birds landing at once, and very close to the cat. Suddenly it got ugly and all kinds of birds were divebombing the cat, harassing it until it was forced to jump down from its high perch.  So go the high and mighty and corrupt “fat cats” this Spring, I do believe… I was in Mexico for the Spring Equinox, unfortunately lost the main paper I put all my messages on; the only one that survived was like the fat-cat story:  “all that’s might and blight will light up like a torch for us to see, plain and clear.” The truth will out brighter than ever, and this gives freedom a chance to grow in ways that it’s been repressed in this country since 1945. In the Mid-East, there’s an official change of direction---there’s something created like a new kind of government, or a new kind of official position, and it really calls for change, a willingness to create different alliances and agreements. Maybe there’s a new Middle East party. I don’t know who the following story is about (it sounds like it could be Barack Obama) but it could be about an emerging figure in the Middle East as it came to me along with the idea of their forming some kind of new party:  “Once upon a time there was somebody who said “No” and had a lot of authority, was higher than anybody. And he set out on a path, and the first thing he was asked to do was to change greatly, and to give up everything. And many things were given to him. And he got a lot of wisdom on this walk towards higher ground and into the unknown, and there were a lot more friends than he thought along the way.” Very sketchy but sounds hopeful, whatever it’s alluding to.  Spring Tidings for Everyone: More promising fates appear to many this Spring, ones that can develop to headier heights than previous goals. Interesting, fulfilling projects are  likely to appear. Some are being given a new direction in life. Some are given new official roles. Some are going off and having experiences in new positions and in new places. There is an invitation in the air to mix it up and try on different roles for size--to be influenced anew, to let new cultures change one.  In personal relationships, love between people deepens and grows…hearts are opening like Spring flowers. Leaders and politicians come up with better plans to solve collective problems. Personal Guidance:  Be where it’s easiest to be this Spring. And practice whatever you need to practice. Success demands that you practice specific things. Anxiousness for no real reason can be like a flu going around.  If it’s not actually biting you in the ass, is it something you’re sure you need to worry about? It could even be a lucky time in at least some places in the financial arena: there are certain long-term investments available now with big future pay-offs. Aries:  There’s questions about how to proceed with whatever you’ve got going…it feels like somebody comes into your life or there’s an influence from another person that provides a missing piece to whatever you’re trying to create this Spring. You might want to do something big…don’t give up on that, you don’t have all the pieces yet.  Taurus:  You are finally breaking out of your mold, but not quite yet, in terms of completely taking action. Right now the freedom you experience is in your plans and insights and personal revelations, but you are not really able to completely transition into this new place you see to be. Energy follows thought: you see where you want to go, and it’s just a matter of time.  Gemini: There can be a pause in your life, the completing of a transition, and then it gets easier to make more money!  You’re doing what you want, you’re meeting interesting people, and it all leads to a stabilizing of your financial foundation.  Cancer:  You’re making plans to travel and work at a distance.
