Santa Fe/Links

These are some neat places, real and virtual, I'd like to share...if you know of any other websites or places of interest to visit, please let me know, send me an e-mail.

Santa Fe

Here are some special places in and around Santa Fe..when you just have a few days, it’s nice to know where you can take a walk in nature ..where there’s a good metaphysical bookstore and of course, green chile: three places to get good “huevos rancheros with green chile” are The Plaza Restaurant, on Lincoln; the Pantry Restaurant and El Tecolote Café, both on Cerillos. The red’s good too.

The Dale Ball Trail system has some great trails with mountain views; it begins at the end of the paved part of Canyon Road and there's a parking area just where it Cerro Gordo begins. You can also walk up the dirt part of Canyon to the Audobon Society parking lot, where there are more trails.

The good metaphysical/spiritual book and supply store is The Ark, on Romero Street. 505-988-3709. Nice garden, nice couches, great book and magazine selection, great free talks.

More walking: closer to Albuquerque, there’s a beautiful stretch of land dotted with cottonwoods and little lakes, and if you like to fish there are enormous bass, about 50 minutes south of Santa Fe at Sandia Lakes Recreational Area. It’s owned and operated by the Indian Pueblo of Sandia. From 1-25 , take exit 234 West and then North 1 mile on NM 313. The biggest bass are in the last pool on the far end where it’s not so easy to get to and no one is fishing.

If you’re here in the Summertime , a nice thing to do is go down to the Plaza in the early evening…bands play, people dance and mingle, kids play hackey-sack.

Places To Stay: There are three beautiful bed and breakfasts in my East Side neighborhood by the Plaza, view them at www.alexanders-inn.com.

The Essential Guide: There's a little black book around town, in the hotels and other public places, with places to go, gallery ads, etc., and they also put out a really great calendar illustrated by Santa Fe artists..it's a cheap way to get a lot of great art...check them out at www.essentialguide.com .
Mexico Links

Acambaro: The best fruit and nut type candy bars in the world are in Acambaro - I saved the label, they’ve been making “dulces regionales” since 1935 and the store is called “Salvador Tinajero” at #121 Avenida 1 de Mayo. It’s the most elegant little place with great snacks and candy. All over Acambaro there are bakeries saying they make the best bread in the world - I ran into an artist who has a bread museum on a street right off the plaza, and plans a restaurant/tourist attraction too- they’ve been making bread in Acambaro longer than most places on the planet.

Oaxaca: For cooking lessons, adventure, and a beautiful place to be, look at what author/chef Susana Trilling offers at her Rancho Aurora overlooking a beautiful valley a little north of Oaxaca, at www.seasonsofmyheart.com.

Metaphysical and Astrological free online info and Newsletters

"Welcome to the web's best free horoscope sites!" says www.thehoroscopejunkie.ca, and that sounds right, once you log on and see the plethora of soothsayers, all for free. A wonderful site to peruse...

Another great one, StarIQ.com, carries "Marketwatch" and other terrific columns, and a guide to astrology on and off the net. Always something interesting to read at

I was surfing the web one night and found the most comprehensive website directory featuring astrologers and information for and about astrology at http://www.findastrologer.com I ended up following links to read articles written by the most interesting people...check it out!

Another good resource site for spiritual/metaphysical info is www.spiritandsky.com, they have a good screening system so everyone on the site has been reviewed.

An interesting site I found late one night on the web, that lists interesting-sounding psychics and mediums from all over, is BestPsychicDirectory.com.

Birthdays and Parties

You are welcome to send out the psychic birthday cards featured in my client newsletter to your astrology-loving friends, and for other card needs  I'm sure you'll find something here, a huge selection of greetings to email at http://www.mybirthdaygreetings.com/

I was referred to a spectacularly well-organized event-planning site, www.partypop.com...you must read their "About Us" page. Their unabashed ambition is to be the premier party planners on the planet, and in the meantime they provide their website readers with great information and ideas about planning an event. If you're planning an event or celebration anywhere, go to partypop first for ideas and perhaps some help.
Valuable Business Resource: Do you rely on your website presence to attract people?  Mike Blumenthal of www.blumenthals.com got me on the map, (literally: the Google/Yahoo maps) and gave me extremely helpful advice about how to increase my website traffic.  I got immediate results, I highly recommend him.
Roswell, New Mexico: Fabulous Modern Art Museum Alert

"...halfway between Marfa and Santa Fe
"  is the artistic pinpoint of the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program and their extremely interesting museum, the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art.
"View a collection of more than 400 works of art created in the last 40 years by former fellows of the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program" says their card, and it's free, too! A beautiful spot, worth a detour.
