There are countless systems of divination: peering at the entrails of a ritually slaughtered animal…gazing at the pattern clouds make; scrutinizing the lines on the palm of a hand. Whatever the means, the goal is always the same: to learn some new truth; to get insight that gives the diviner leverage in their circumstance; to get a sign of yea or nay from the Universe or a Higher Power.
Divination systems appear spontaneously as a phenomena in daily life: the license plate that speaks to us, the message on a billboard looming on the side of the highway; the book that catches our eye, or what some stranger chooses to say to us… the stone we pick up on a walk. A divination system, whether made up on the spot, or assembled arcane knowledge, lets you communicate with the world about.
I have a divination system of eight stones, seven of which I picked up in South America. The eighth is a crystal that’s been with me for decades and has always been a tool in psychic work. The way I use them professionally with clients, is to lay them out as part of a preparation ritual before a client calls or comes in. When the session begins I read their meaning to the client. I also have the client make a design. Most fascinating is that the client makes a meaningful design as if they know everything about the stones and what their juxtapositions mean!
I also use the Speaking Stones for prediction articles to take a look at collective developments and trends. Some of the messages that come through them are frank and not necessarily what people want to hear, but valuable because they are filtered through the element of earth, which can reveal the black and white of a situation, showing what becomes concrete, or what has a shaky foundation.
